We design, build and support everything we put in front of you. No middle layers, no handoffs. When you work with KwickBlocks, you work directly with the people who build it.
Jony Zaman
Co-Founder & AI Cloud Architect
I've spent more than twenty years building software, for larger businesses and
smaller firms alike. The same thing kept catching my eye: good businesses losing
hours every week to work a computer could handle on its own, chasing invoices,
taking bookings, juggling the rota. That's what led me to start KwickBlocks.
I sit with clients to find the problems worth solving, design how each solution
fits together in the cloud, and make sure every block we ship earns its keep.
Originally from New Zealand, I came to the UK in the early 2000s on a two-year
working holiday visa. It was exciting, daunting and more than a little uncertain,
especially leaving behind family, friends and everything that felt familiar.
I arrived as a junior developer with a passion for software development and a
determination to keep learning. Before online courses and AI assistants, many
evenings and weekends were spent sitting in bookshops reading programming books,
teaching myself new languages and expanding my skills. That curiosity has never
left me.
Contracting gave me the opportunity to work with incredible people across a wide
range of businesses and industries. Every project was different, but one thing was
always the same: the best solutions came from listening, collaborating and building
strong relationships with the people behind the business.
Those experiences shaped not only my career but also my perspective. They showed me
that great solutions come from understanding people first and technology second.
Together with my close friend and co-founder, Jony Zaman, we created Kwick Blocks
around a simple belief:
Great software isn't built for clients. It's built with them.
For me, technology has never been the destination. It's simply a way of helping
people, building lasting relationships and creating solutions that genuinely make
a difference.
